2010 Academy Award® Nominations: Actor in a Supporting Role - Actress in a Leading Role
2010 GOLDEN GLOBE® NOMINEE

THE LAST STATION is a complex, funny, richly emotional story about the difficulty of living with love and the impossibility of living without it. This Michael Hoffman (RESTORATION, THE EMPEROR’S CLUB) film stars Academy Award® winner Helen Mirren and Golden Globe® nominee Christopher Plummer. After almost fifty years of marriage, the Countess Sofya (Mirren), Leo Tolstoy’s (Plummer) devoted wife, passionate lover and secretary, suddenly finds her world turned upside down in the name of Tolstoy’s newly created religion. The Great Russian novelist has renounced his noble title and his family in favor of poverty, vegetarianism and celibacy. When the Countess spots betrayal in Tolstoy’s disciple Chertkov (Paul Giamatti), she uses every bit of cunning and seduction in her considerable arsenal to fight it.
