Award winner Nina Hoss (YELLA) stars in this account of life in 1945 during the Red Army invasion of Berlin based on the formerly anonymous writings of journalist and photographer Marta Hillers.

During a period of intense abuse and frequent rape, she looks to Russian officer Andrej (Evgeny Sidikhin) for protection- an encounter which develops into a complex symbiotic relationship that forces them to remain enemies until the bitter end.
